Vacuum Interrupters, Inc. (VI) is pleased to announce the addition of veteran electrical engineer and vacuum interrupter specialist Chris Lee. Based out of VIM (Vacuum Interrupters, Inc. —Manufacturing Facility), Lee will help accelerate the development of new vacuum interrupter designs and ratings for medium-voltage circuit breakers, shepherding VIM from its current proof-of-concept operation into full production as North America’s newest supplier of vacuum interrupter devices and technology.
Lee joins lead applications engineer Jerod Day as part of VIM’s engineering staff. Lee comes to VIM from Vitzro Tech in Seoul, South Korea, where he developed vacuum interrupters from 7.2 kV to 84 kV, including devices for nuclear-rated and electrified railway applications.
Prior to Vitzro Tech, Lee held research and development positions at several prominent Korean companies, including Honda Electronics, ATS Corp., and d2 Engineering. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Hoseo University in South Korea.
